About us

KeepHer Australia launched in 2023 with one job: put elite goalkeeping equipment in the hands of the women and girls keeping goal across Australia and New Zealand. Not adapted. Not scaled down. Built for us from the start.

How it started

Mel Maizels was the first Australian goalkeeper KeepHer ever sponsored. She has worn the gloves since 2018 in the A-League Women — Perth Glory, Canberra United, and now Melbourne Victory, where she is Head Goalkeeper Coach.

Helen spotted those gloves from the stands at a Canberra United home game. Mel gifted her daughter a pair, and that was that. In 2019 Helen founded Even Playing Field to make female-specific sports apparel and equipment properly available across Australia — KeepHer gloves among them.

In 2023 the story came full circle. Helen and Mel joined forces to launch KeepHer Australia properly, with one ambition: to be the glove worn by the best goalkeepers in the A-League Women and the national teams.

To be the best, and to bring the next generation with us.

Our gloves

KeepHer is the first and only goalkeeper glove designed specifically for the female hand. Palm width, finger length, wrist — every measurement taken from keepers who actually wear them, never assumed from a smaller version of something else.

KeepHer goalkeeper gloves

  • Sizes 6 to 9, cut for the female hand
  • Premium German latex — grip you can trust off your line
  • Negative cut across the range for a close, locked-in fit
  • Built to hold in the wet as well as the dry
  • Stocked and shipped locally, so you are not waiting six weeks from overseas

Looking after them

Grip lives and dies by how clean the latex is. Keep your gloves free of grit and dirt, towel dry them as often as you can, and they will hold their grip far longer. It is the difference between a season and half a season.
