As a female goalkeeper, finding the perfect pair of gloves that cater to your unique needs is essential for optimal performance on the field. So now that you've found your KeepHer Gloves, how long can you expect these gloves to last? In this blog post, we will explore the lifespan of KeepHer goalkeeper gloves and provide valuable insights on how to maximise their durability.
KeepHer goalkeeper gloves are crafted using premium materials that undergo rigorous testing to ensure maximal plausible longevity. We prioritise the use of durable and high performance materials, such as high-grade German latex and synthetic back-of-glove materials, which are carefully selected for their resilience against wear and tear. These materials contribute significantly to the overall lifespan of KeepHer gloves.
Factors affecting your gloves' lifespan:
Glove care:
Proper care and maintenance play a vital role in prolonging the lifespan of your KeepHer goalkeeper gloves. You can check out our ultimate guide to cleaning and caring for your KeepHer gloves over at our blog post here, KeepHer Glove Care, which should be followed diligently. Regularly removing dirt and debris, washing according to our instructions, and allowing the gloves to air dry naturally will help maintain their performance and durability over time.
Frequency of use:
The frequency and intensity of your goalkeeper training and matches can impact the lifespan of any gloves, including KeepHer gloves. If you are a professional or regularly engaged in competitive training (2-3 times per week), it is expected that your gloves will experience more wear and tear.
It's important to recognise the signs that indicate your KeepHer goalkeeper gloves may need replacing. Over time, the latex on the palms may start to deteriorate, resulting in reduced grip and control. It is advisable to monitor your gloves closely and replace them promptly when they no longer provide the necessary performance or protection. Even with disciplined care of your gloves, if you are using just 1 pair of KeepHer gloves for both training and games, you could expect them to last 3-4 months.
Playing surface:
The lifespan of goalkeeper gloves is influenced by the conditions in which they are used. KeepHer gloves are designed to withstand various playing surfaces, including natural grass, artificial turf, and indoor courts. However, it's important to note that abrasive surfaces and harsh weather conditions can accelerate the wear and tear of any gloves. While KeepHer gloves are built to be durable, it is advisable to take extra precautions in challenging environments and especially on artificial turf which is known to be dry and can damage gloves more rapidly with repeated diving.
THE PRO ROTATION:
As a professional goalkeeper I would advise my GK's to follow my glove rotation strategy:
START WITH:
Once your Game gloves become too worn to use confidently in games, you transition your backup pair into your game pair and your game pair will transition into your training rotation. You will still use your training pair until they wear down which will now happen slower due to sharing the load with your old match pair.
Our recommendation would be to use this rotation to get through a full winter season and if required/if your training load or training surface has a significant impact, purchase a 4th pair to add to this rotation.
